Typical Month: May
Typical Location: Cary, NC
Conference Hashtag: #click2018
The 2018 Click Summit will return to Cary, NC and be held on May 7-9.
As one of the premier testing and optimization events of the year, the Summit brings together analysts, optimizers, and marketers from all areas of the country to share their ideas on testing and optimization. The Summit utilizes peer-to-peer learning, in the form of sharing successes and challenges, round-table discussions, and interactive conversations (rather than sessions).
The agenda is peppered with networking opportunities between the conversations. Attendees will have the choice of which conversations they want to attend based on their company’s specific needs. The conversations are led by the industry’s elite, but they are facilitated in an informal, round-table setting.
Yet another perk of Click Summit is that it provides exhibitors and sponsors with the beneficial opportunity to connect and interact with eCommerce leads while at the conference. List Genius is a great tool for companies to use as part of the preparation for events such as this.

Click Summit is being held at the Umstead Hotel & Spa, North Carolina’s most highly rated hotel, where you can plan to stay. There are a couple of other options that are not too far away, if you would prefer:
Embassy Suites (0.5 mi) – This hotel offers convenience – it’s close to the venue, the airport, and shopping – and a reasonable price.
TownePlace Suites (2.3 mi) – A little further away, but still a quick drive, this hotel offers guests the comfort of home with its suites and amenities. It also has reasonable nightly rates.
The Summit is filled with lots of activities for attendees during the evenings, but if you are looking for an alternative meeting place for your team or new connections, here are a few to try:
An ($$$) – This upscale Asian themed restaurant is one of the highest rated restaurants in the area. With an elegant and spacious dining room and an impressive wine list, it makes for the perfect place to debrief after the conference.
Carmen’s Cuban Cafe ($$) – Just a short drive up the Interstate and you can visit Carmen’s for authentic Cuban cuisine. The atmosphere is fun and lively with Latin music on the weekends. You can grab a taste of Old Havana at the conclusion of the conference.
The Corner Tavern & Grill ($$) – If you want a laid-back pub setting, this is it. The Corner serves traditional pub food, burgers, wings, and sandwiches, and has an assortment of beers and cocktails.
Mid-May in Raleigh brings pleasant temperatures, but high humidity. The average high temperature for the conference dates is 79 degrees, and the low is 58 degrees. With the humidity potentially reaching 88-90 percent though, it will be muggy. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain during those dates as well.
The conference is being held in Cary, North Carolina, just outside of Raleigh, so you will definitely need to rent a car if you plan to do any sightseeing in downtown Raleigh. The conference is providing transportation to all of the planned activities that are being held offsite. So, if you’re planning on staying close to the venue, you won’t need to plan on obtaining transportation of your own.
Raleigh and the surrounding areas are steeped in history and nature. Most attractions are places you can spend as much or as little time as you want to. Hopefully, you will have time to see these three:
North Carolina Museum of Natural Science – If you have the time, a trip to this museum is worth seeing. It is North Carolina’s largest and most visited museum, and it has exhibits that are sure to spark interest.
Umstead State Park – Convene with nature at this beautiful State Park. You can hike the trails, rent a canoe or boat and explore Big Lake, one of three man-made lakes in the park.
North Carolina State Capitol – Visit the State Capitol for a bit of history, with some politics thrown in. You are able to tour the Capitol building which includes the Rotunda, the Governor’s Office, the House of Representatives and Senate Chambers and much more. While you’re there you can view the monuments and statues on Union Square.
